WD Scorpio Blue 2.5-inch SATA hard drives deliver massive 1 TB capacity paired with ultra-quiet operation and low power consumption, making them the ideal drive for everyday notebook computing. These drives are built to the standard 9.5 mm height 2.5-inch form factor utilizing 500 GB/disk technology. In addition, these hard drives are designed with ruggedness, reliability, and data-protection features that actively watch over your valuable data.

WD's SecurePark parks the recording heads off the disk surface during spin up, spin down, and when the drive is off. This ensures the recording head never touches the disk surface resulting in improved long term reliability due to less head wear, and improved non-operational shock tolerance. Rugged.
WD's ShockGuard technology protects the drive mechanics and platter surfaces from shocks.
Advanced Format (AF).
 Technology being adopted by WD and other drive manufacturers to continue growing hard drive capacities. New drives featuring AF are optimized for operation with Windows 7, Windows Vista and Mac OS X Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard. For older operating systems such as Windows XP, users must run the free WD Align software utility to achieve the full performance of the drive. Tested for compatibility.
